Brothers Grim - Love 'n a Shovel
A dark tale where dream and memory blur leaving it uncertain what has happened, what is to come, and what is seen only by the minds eye. This clip is full of beautiful people, sexy cars, and stunning locations. |

The Shoot
The desert exteriors were shot in a dried out lake bed. But on the morning of the shoot, a flood of biblical proportions drowned our initial location, transforming it from a desiccated wasteland back to a brimming lake. Undeterred by this disaster, we headed across the state in the opposite direction and fortunately found another lake bed still stricken by drought. Nothing like last minute location scouting to get the adrenaline pumping! An indication of how bad the drought was here at the time, the bridge seen in the clip is an drowned remnant of the old road and would normally be completely underwater. Post-Production
I used this project as an opportunity to teach myself After Effects, using it for all the color grading and film look post work. While it can be quite time intensive, both to use and render, After Effects is incredibly flexible and handles color extremely well. |
